How Does An HOA Affect Renting A Home In Chattanooga?

What’s up everybody? Alex Smith here from gkhouses Chattanooga.

I wanted to do another Questions Owners Ask and this particular one is about HOAs in rental houses and the question is How does an HOA affects renting a home in Chattanooga?

So there are some HOA that aren’t fans of rental houses and they just outlaw.

I guess outlaw is the word, but they just outlaw people renting their houses out to non-homeowners entirely.

So, you know, if you suspect that might be the…either way with all of these.

If you have an HOA, you’ll wanna follow up with them and see if they have any restrictions on renting a house out.

Some HOAs are okay with renting the houses out, you know, no problem.

You know, some HOAs are okay with rental houses, but, they’re going to  require some additional kind of deposit or fee, in order to make that happen.

And then some HOAs quite honestly, you know, I’ve seen where they kind of just make up the rules as they go.

I know, I’m not trying to speak badly about HOAs, but we had a situation here in Chattanooga.

Actually where a homeowner got a notification that, you know, overnight, the HOA decided that they were going to outlaw.

You know, rental houses and this particular homeowner had a tenant in there, so kind of had to deal with that whole situation.

I would guess that’s very rare, but, you know, I’ve seen it, so, you know, it’s definitely possible for it to happen.

That’s pretty much covers it.

You know, if you have any questions, definitely feel free to reach out to us.

We’d be glad to help and, you know, advise you on this or any other questions you might have.

Thanks. See you.
